Reflection:
Professional ethics for educational technology are like any other profession’s ethics because they are cultural standards. Professional ethics are politically negotiated and maintained as traditions. I thought this was a great culminating activity to review all of the amazing work completed throughout this course. This artifact demonstrates the research and act of ethical behavior on a global scale, as well as how cultural differences should never be overlooked when planning for instruction, but respected and accounted for. As educators, it is our responsibility to not only apply what we know about professional ethical behavior amongst our students and colleagues, but provide opportunities to our students to apply such behaviors that carry on with them beyond the classroom. Respecting cultural differences and customs and sharing our cultures/customs is just one small way to do this. Providing students with the knowledge of how such cultural differences can cause situations of misunderstanding is another way. Personally, I grew in my knowledge of educational societies on a global scale and how our country is impacted. I also feel confident in my ablity to incorporate the work of my peers into implementation in U.S. education. Professionally, I grew to improve my "critical eye" in reflection and implementation. I now see the value in such assginments in order to fully analzye the content that was shared and continue research further in quesitons that may have arised from such reflection. Students are impacted my learning appropraite self-evaluation tools with reflection, analysis, and feedback from peers. Also, the PowerPoint was a great tool to use as a culminating activity sharing what you learned throughout the semester and how you will implement the tools, research, and techniques that were shared from other education policies from peers.
