Reflection:
The old adage from Confucius (450 B.C.) , “Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand” describes the core of inquiry-based learning. Inquiry is the process of seeking truth, information, or knowledge by questioning. Questioning is the key. The process of inquiring begins with gathering information and data through applying the human senses: seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, and smelling. Infants make connections to the world by inquiring. They observe faces that come near, they grasp objects, they put things in their mouths, and they turn toward voices. It is natural. Although it is most often associated with science, inquiry-based learning is used to engage students of all ages, to learn by exploration and discovery. Inquiry-based learning processes vary. This artifact was useful in strengthening my research skills, specifically in learning what theories support current writings associated with eLearning environments. Personally, I was able to strengthen my understanding of appropriate learning theories and format annotated bibliographies according to APA formatting. Professionally, I grew in my knowledge of how to apply learning theory in order to strengthen my research skills, and apply such theories in order to develop appropriate eLearning environments use best practices found through the annotated bibliography. Students are impacted in that they are exposed to research-based best practices supported by learning theories specific to the needs of learners in an online environment.

Reflection:
As educators, one of our goals is to create an environment where our students are successful and develop the skills to become lifelong learners. Educational leaders, therefore must prepare students to function effectively in a multicultural society and in a world where national borders may sometimes blur. This project helped my personally growth in that I was able to gain knowledge about the South Korean education system, and how the strong work ethic and importance parents place on academic success can be applied to US education. Professionally, I grew to deepen my understanding in the importance of continuously learning and discussing global education, especially in higher education. We are a society of many cultures and customs and are directly impacted by a global economy, information technology, migrations, marginalized populations, and new socio-cultural ideas that have combined to create a world without borders. Students are impacted in that they need to be aware of how other nations, cultures, and customs will in fact affect them professionally and personally on a global scale. They need to be prepared to achieve success in a rapidly changing society and ecumenic and educational impacts that aren't even apart of their world yet.
