LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS - ELEMENT 5: ETHICS
Candidates foster a learning environment in which ethics guide practice that promotes health, safety, best practice, and respect for copyright and Fair Use.
Artifact: Group Wiki and VoiceThread as Final Project Submission
Description:
GDIT 725: Leadership and Ethics, Fall 2015
As a group, we were to great an action plan to discuss the group learning goals and how we intended to meet them. Our group created a wiki to share our interpretation of each learning goal. The learning goals were to address our issues and ethical concerns with online group work. Each individual then was to submit a final product that will aid others in learning about your topic. Even if you worked in a group you will submit individually by creating a final product that centers around the content you brought to the group. You may need to go back to your group discussion board to hash out the specifics. If there is some overlap that is fine. No sense wasting a lot of time on the delineation-the lines are quite clear to me.
What should you submit? Well -that's up to you. Different topics will lend to different products. Think about your audience-the purpose of the activity-the usability of the product- Think about the best way to present this new information to your classmates. Think "What points are the most powerful for my peers"?
This does not have to be elaborate but it should show that the last three weeks were purposeful for you and your peers.
I discussed our 4th learning goal in our group project:
•Identify 3 grading techniques that support and encourage fruitful group participation by all group members. I created a voice thread so please click on the link below:

Reflection:
Ethics in education means, granting educational opportunities to anyone on equal basis; disregarding nationality, gender, ideological differences or mental/physical disabilities. Through this perspective, online learning environments have an important potential, owing to their nature to reach international audiences. Considering the number and diversity of students in e-Learning environments, policies balancing different expectations and studying how the participants perceive ethics in online learning environments are important. In order to grow and improve in any given field, it is extremely important to understand and follow the policies and guidelines set forth by leaders and major organizations in the field. Personally, I grew to understand the importance of copyright, plagiarism, and safety laws when apply Internet policies within schools and universities. Also, knowing how to use the theories and pedagogies of experts in the field of instructional technology to validate implementing ethical practices and policies into Internet management systems that respect all cultures and diverse learners. Professionally, I grew to further my knowledge of instructional technology management in terms of internet use, safety, privacy, and best practices in terms of ethical behavior in an online environment pertaining to group work. Students are impacted in modeling the reflection process and its importance in growing and evaluating their work and contribution from an ethical perspective, specifically when working with peers.
